Sterilization Procedures

When in the Sterilization Area, complete protective attire must be worn at all times.  This includes lab coat, gloves, safety glasses and mask.  Step 1 is to place the cassettes in the ultrasonic wearing the utility gloves.  Step 2 is to place the cassettes in the dishwasher and run the rinse cycle.  Step 3 is to wrap the cassettes in the blue paper with the sterilization tape and label with the student’s number, initials and the color of cassette.  Step 4 is to place wrapped cassettes into the autoclave.  Step 5 is to place the sterilized cassettes into the corresponding boxes.
